The Medical Association of Georgia Foundation (MAG Foundation) has announced that Walgreens stores in Georgia will support its ‘Think About It’ campaign to reduce prescription drug abuse in the state by distributing informational leaflets …to patients who have their prescriptions filled at Walgreens pharmacies beginning today.
“The MAG Foundation would like to express its sincere thanks to Walgreens for its vision and leadership,” says MAG Foundation President Jack M. Chapman Jr., M.D. “Education is the most important step that we can take to reduce prescription drug abuse, which the Georgia Drug and Narcotics Agency says has reached epidemic levels in the state.”
The “Help Stop Rx Drug Abuse in Georgia” leaflets encourage Georgians to 1) only take their medicine as prescribed and 2) not share their medicine and 3) store their medicine in a safe and secure place and 4) properly dispose of any unused medicine.
Walgreens Pharmacy Operations Market Director Greg Primuth explains that, “We are proud to support the Think About It campaign, which is fully aligned with our mission of being a trusted provider of innovative pharmacy, health and wellness solutions.” There are 191 Walgreens pharmacies in Georgia.
